RYOBI 92 Color Bar   Instruction Manual

  RYOBI 92 Color bar
     Data type : Adobe Illustrator version 8.0(EPS)
     Purpose : This is used for measuring by the RYOBI PDS
     This is a color bar data to be used by the DTP software.
     Applicable presses : RYOBI 750 series
   These data are produced by the Macintosh.  So, when handling the data using the   other hardware except the Macintosh, the data type needs to be changed  the other type (example; TIFF or so).


[RYOBI 92 Color Bar]
  The RYOBI 92 Color Bar is composed of the following patches.

 Solid patches
    The solid patches including the black, cyan, magenta, yellow and the special 
colors are arranged on all the keys (1 through 26 key).
    This is used for the automatic correction by the RYOBI PDS and the printing quality control by the solid density.
    The data must not be changed.

 Gray balance patches
    The gray balance patch which is a overprint of cyan, magenta and yellow is arranged on all the keys (1 through 26 key)
    These are used for the automatic correction by the RYOBI PDS and the printing quality control by the chromaticity of gray.
    The data must not be changed.
 
Dot percentage patch
   50% screen patches of each black, cyan, magenta, yellow are arranged on the 9 through 12 keys.50% screen patches of special color are rranged on the 17 through 18 keys. 75% screen patches of each color are arranged on the 20 through 25 keys.
   This is used for the printing quality control by the dot percentage and/or dot density.
   When the 50% screen is changed to the other dot percentage, please use the color setting menu of the Illustrator.

Slur and doubling patches
   The slur and doubling patches of each black, cyan, magenta and yellow are arranged on the 4 through 7 keys. The slur and doubling patch of the special color is arranged on the 2 and 3 keys.
   This is used for the visual control of the slur and doubling.
   The data must not be changed.
 
Ink trapping patches
   The 3 kinds of two-color overprint patches, cyan & magenta, cyan & yellow, and magenta & yellow, are arranged on the 14 through 16 keys.
   This is used for the printing quality control by trapping of the succeeding ink. 
   The data must not be changed.

 Paper patch
   There is a space on the 8 and 14 keys and 19 keys . This is a paper patch which is used for measuring the paper density itself.  
   This is used for calculating the dot image rate.
   The data must not be changed.

[Changing from the 6-color press data to the 4 or 5-color press data]
   This CD data is made for 6-color press data.  This data can be changed to the 4 or 5-color press data by using the Adobe Illustrator.

 Procedures
   1. Select the either one of the 5th or 6th solid patches that you want to delete. 
(Position the pointer on the patch and click to select.)
   2. In this condition, select the similar color paint from the [Select] in the [Edit] menu. (All the similar color patches are selected.)
   3. Press the delete key. (All the similar color patches are deleted.)
   4. Select the slur and doubling patch of the similar color that was deleted by the above step and press the delete key.

[Changing the special color]
  When wanting to change the special color data for the 5th or 6th unit, use the Adobe Illustrator.

 Procedures
   1. Select the either one of the 5th or 6th solid patches. (Position the pointer on the patch and click to select.)
   2. In this condition, select the similar color paint from the [Select] in the [Edit] menu. (All the similar color patches are selected.)
   3. Select the color that you want to change from the colors palette.  (All the selected patch colors are changed.)
   4. Select the slur and doubling patch of the similar color that was changed the above step and change the color.

[Precautions]
   When using the color bar, be careful of the following points.
   Align the center register mark of the color bar with the center of the lateral direction on the printed sheet.
   The both ended patches of the color bar should be printed whole. (A part of the patch should not be missing.)
